About

Anish (Max) Bagga is an M.D. candidate at Washington University in St. Louis and Chief Medical Officer of Sling Health St. Louis. His vision is to transform medicine in the developing world through precision medicine and agentic AI.

His research advances the mathematical modeling of human physiology and disease on three fronts: he uncovered how endocrine-disrupting chemicals alter thyroid hormone dynamics, established new thyroid hormone delivery kinetics with potential precision medicine applications, and overturned an existing hypothesis about how T3 circadian rhythm works. He also modeled how influenza evolves across mammals, birds, and swine, uncovering how critical the swine host was to the 2009 pandemic and establishing dynamics that inform pandemic preparedness today. His accomplishments earned him a Goldwater Scholarship and a Fulbright, and WashU named him a Distinguished Student Scholar on a full-ride scholarship.

At Raxa Health Services in New Delhi, he serves as AI Solutions Developer and Clinical Research Lead, building on-device EMR and clinical decision support software designed to protect patient privacy, pioneering on-device AI in healthcare. He leads clinical studies across India that verify the models' efficacy in augmenting physician decision-making, and partners directly with the Indian government to execute the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission. Through Qualcomm's Wireless Reach program, it is now used in care for tens of thousands of patients, which he hopes to scale to reach millions.

At Sling Health, he wants to build ventures that use state-of-the-art technology to solve the hardest problems in medicine.
